Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, that is used to stop the so-called email spoofing where an email message is sent from one email address, but to look as being sent from a different, often with the purpose to fraud the recipient in some way. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, a specific record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers worldwide have it. The record contains all e-mail servers that are allowed to send authentic messages from an address within the domain. When an email is sent, the very first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and in case its sending server is permitted, the message is sent to the target receiver. When, however, the sending server is not included in the SPF record for the given domain, the e-mail message will not be submitted and it'll be removed. When you use this solution, it will prevent third parties from sending spam emails which look as if they have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Web Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for each domain hosted in a web hosting account on our cloud platform with no more than a few mouse-clicks. The function is accessible in the Emails section of our innovative Hepsia Control Panel and all it takes to activate it is to pick one of your domain names from a drop-down menu and then enter the hostnames together with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers which will be certified to send emails from your emails. As an added option you can even restrict the email messages to be sent from your domain only if it has our MX records, i.e. when our servers manage the emails for it, not some third-party supplier. This option provides you with the top degree of protection, but it is not applicable when only your web site is on our servers while the email addresses for the domain name are handled elsewhere. Regardless, the SPF protection service will keep your emails risk-free from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The SPF protection function is featured with all of the Linux semi-dedicated packages, so if you host your domain names in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you'll be able to use this service with ease for any of your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is provided with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a quite easy to use interface, so you will not have to be proficient in the use of computers to protected your e-mail addresses. You'll simply need to type the hostname and the IP of each mail server that you'd like to be authorized to send out emails from your addresses and immediately after that the new record will be active for the domain name that you have picked. As an extra option, we will also give you the ability to limit the outgoing e-mail messages and protect your mailboxes even better by allowing messages to be sent only if the domain in question includes our MX records i.e. the e-mail messages for the domain name should be handled here and not by some other supplier. Doing so you'll get even better control and there will not be a chance for somebody to counterfeit your e-mail addresses for malicious objectives.
